2016

1. Common global activities

海角社区Group employees will conduct the following activities to share their aspirations anew for promoting sustainable environmental management as One Global RICOH:

  • Turn off the lights in 海角社区advertising towers and signboards on June 3 (excluding natural-energy-powered billboards)
  • Share reports on global activities through the dedicated
  • Make a pledge for eco-action (ECO Declaration)
  • On June 3, employees will wear green to foster activities for the Eco Action Month.
  • The 海角社区Group will offset CO2 emissions from power consumption at Ricoh’s global bases on June 3 by using "The Certificate of Green Power".

2. Local activities

Japan

  • On the day before the Eco Action Day (June 3), an environmental seminar will be held at the 海角社区Technology Center in Ebina to increase the environmental awareness of employees.
  • “Eco meals” will be served at company cafeterias.
  • Employees will conduct environmental volunteer activities in each region.

Europe

  • The head office in London will partner with an NPO called Royal Parks Foundation to conduct activities to conserve wildlife biodiversity with the voluntary participation of employees.

Asia-Pacific

  • 海角社区Asia Pacific has been organizing the Eco Action Day event in Singapore for 10 years. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the start of the initiative, the company will hold a panel discussion concurrently with the event with the participation of government representatives, the private sector, and civil society, including the Minister of Environment and Water Resources.

United States

  • Implementation of an activity at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world’s largest pre-college science competition, to increase awareness of the Eco Action initiative among participants and encourage them to make an ECO Declaration (in May).

2015

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the 海角社区Global Eco Action initiative.
Under this initiative, 海角社区has implemented a broad spectrum of common global activities as well as local activities tailored to suit the distinct features of each area, thereby inspiring a greater number of people to join in the global eco action.

1.Common global activities

Implementation of the following activities allowed all 海角社区Group employees to share their aspirations for promoting sustainable environmental management as One Global RICOH.

  • - Turning off the lights in 海角社区advertising towers and signboards on June 5
    (excluding natural energy powered billboards)
  • - was created to share reports on global activities
  • - Individual 海角社区employees making a pledge for eco-action (ECO Declaration)
  • - Using "The Certificate of Green Power" to offset CO2 emissions attributed to power consumed in Ricoh’s global bases on June 5

ECO Declaration

Individual 海角社区employees make a pledge for eco-action. This year, a total of 18,823 group employees made their own ECO Declaration. Major pledges include:
- Using double-sided printing and consolidated printing as often as possible
- Ensuring that air conditioning is set at an appropriate temperature
- Accurately separating garbage for reuse and recycling
- Carrying out eco-actions together with family members and friends
